Lori's Story

Created by Brian 8 years ago
Gloria Lynn Pearson was born February 4, 1953 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was welcomed into her family by her Mother Ethelyn, Father Edwin, brother Bob and Sister Elaine. An avid lover of water, Lori soon was swimming, sailing, skiing, fishing and canoeing. By the age of 5, she became known to all as Lori.

After completing high school, she went on to attend Michigan State University. During college, Lori had the opportunity to backback through Europe and had many adventures while discovering her family roots in Sweden. A semester away at UC Davis, solidified two things, her love of horticulture and desire to live in California. Following her college graduation she found a job in Los Angeles and moved out West.

Soon thereafter she married and began a family in Tarzana. In 1980, Lake Arrowhead became her second home. In 1982, life would forever change when her only child Brian was born. As he grew, Lori was an active mother since Brian was involved in baseball, basketball, golf and tennis. In addition to working as the head buyer at Treeland Nursery, Lori was an active member with PEO, a leader in the local community (Melody Acres) and a regular volunteer with Guide Dogs of America. In her free time, Lori enjoyed paddle tennis, cooking, hosting dinner parties, walking with her friends and was a season ticket holder at the Ahmanson theater.

In 2006, Lori relocated to Lake Arrowhead as a permanent resident. Lori quickly became a pillar in her new community. She was a leader of several organizations including but not limited to: Soroptimist, Rim of the World Historical Society, Meals on Wheels, and Arrowhead Arts Association. Her contributions are undeniable and her impact on the Lake Arrowhead community will live on forever.

Lori was a such a special woman. We love her very much and she will be missed.
